cocktails at home
So you ordered an Obon Cocktail and want to know how to enjoy it? We're here to help. First thing's first:
Try not to over think it.

If you find your cocktail doesn't look like any of the images below, that's totally ok (and honestly recommended in some cases). The idea here is to make these things palatable and less focused on being Instagrammable.

IF YOUR DRINK CONTAINS CITRUS - Shake that thing with some ice. You want to REALLY incorporate those ingredients and also (very important) chill and DILUTE these drinks. Afterwards you can do whats called a "dirty dump" (heh) and pour everything into a glass OR strain your cocktail over some fresh ice! This serves to slow dilution, make it pretty and add steps (wait what...).

IF YOU ORDERED A BLACK TEA OLD FASHIONED - Go ahead and pour your serving (don't be greedy) over some nice ice. Bigger cubes recommended but not required. Stir everything with whatever you got lying around (finger works perfectly and serves as a tasting utensil as well). Once it's chilled and tastes more like a balanced cocktail (and less like boozy cough syrup) you've won the battle. BONUS: Cut a very thin strip of orange rind and squeeze the oils over the top of your drink. This adds a nice aromatic and a little acidity to the cocktail thats really quite nice.

Good Luck friends! Don't forgert to tag us in your home cocktail photos!
